THE GALLERY OF MATICA SRPSKA WAS VISITED BY
A JUDGE OF THE EUROPEAN MUSEUM ACADEMY

The Gallery of Matica srpska applied for the DASA Award (http://europeanmuseumacademy.eu/dasa-award/) founded by the European Museum Academy (EMA) for exceptional quality in museological concept of museums, possibilities of learning and creativity of the exhibition design and educational programme activities. Specific attention is also given to personal mediation, interactive participation of the public and an effective mix of education and entertainment.
On that occasion, the Gallery of Matica srpska was visited by Virgil Stefan Nitulescu, PhD, the qualified expert of the EMA. The director of the Gallery of Matica srpska Tijana Palkovljević Bugarski, deputy director Daniela Korolija Crkvenjakov, programme director Snežana Mišić and museum educator Jelena Ognjanović welcomed the expert and presented the Permanent collection and ongoing exhibitions (Arsenije Teodorović and Serbian Church in Buda and Free Masonry in Serbia), as well as programmes and activities of the Gallery. During the visit, they showed new approaches in explaining Serbian art in the Permanent collection through Conservator stories and mobile application Feel the Art, and also presented educational programmes for children.
All candidates who pass the judging of the jury for the DASA Award will have a chance to present their museums in the Annual EMA Meeting in Aarhus, Denmark from the 20th to the 23rd of September, 2018, when it will be decided on the final winner of the Award.
