NOTICE

Until the end of 2024, a guided tour through the various modules of the new permanent exhibition will be held every weekend at 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. For more information on guided tours, please see our Calendar of Events. A program of current exhibitions will be held on Fridays at 7:00 p.m.

The Gallery of Matica srpska, founded in 1847 under the auspices of Matica srpska, today represents one of the richest art museums in Serbia. The permanent collection exhibits significant artworks from the 18th, 19th and the 20th century and illustrates the origin and the development of Serbian Art of New Age, indicating the position of national culture in European context. Apart from the permanent exhibition, the Gallery is a place where different temporary displays take place – international, monographic, thematic, etc.

The visitors can enjoy the variety of programmes, such as expert interpretations of exhibitions, lectures, promotions of art publications, art movie projections, conversation with artists and creative workshops for children and young people. The Art gives a chance to comprehend different historical epochs and feel the spirit of the past. The artworks live under the roof of the Gallery of Matica srpska, being revived by the knowledge and activities of its experts. It’s up to you to visit the Gallery and experience art in your peculiar way!
