With the program Inspired by France, the Gallery of Matica srpska points out the decades-long unbreakable connections between French and Serbian culture and art. Through lectures, concerts, guided tours, educational program and creative workshops for children, museum audience will get acquainted with the social and artistic atmosphere in France in the late 19th and early 20th century, with the fine art and music of that time, as well as with the importance of Paris and France for Serbian artists and the development of Serbian Art.

* Within the educational program, at Saturday the 20th of March, museum educators and professors of French language from the French Institute in Serbia – Novi Sad will present the children book Ma ville through interactive workshop, and point out its the importance in learning foreign language through art and culture.
During the Month of francophonie, visitors can enjoy in short video stories Inspired by France, created thanks to the cooperation of French Institute in Serbia with museums and its curators. Two-minute stories present Serbian artists that lived and worked in France and whose artworks are in the collections of Serbian museums.
Moreover, the Month of francophonie will be the opportunity to publish website of the Gallery of Matica srpska in French language and to make our collection and the activities of the Gallery closer to the francophone audience. The program is realized in cooperation with the French Institute in Serbia and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Serbia.
